Hastings – Alexandra Park/ Shornden Reservoir 2.4m

If you take a loop of the lower Park and add a circuit round Shornden Reservoir, you’ve done a two and a half mile walk.

It is a beautiful combination of the formally managed area and a woody patch with a series of fabulous expanses of water. Look out for Kingfishers, Cormorants and many, many ducks.

Parking: on street car parking around the park, free further from town. Public transport: nearby bus stops, approx 1 mile walk from Hastings Station.

Health walk: if you’d like to join a weekly group walk around Alexandra Park, come and find us on Wednesday mornings for a one hour walk led by trained community volunteers. It’s completely free to take part and there’s no need to book, just pop along shortly before 10.30, meet us in front of the Ranger’s Office/toilet block opposite the cafe.
