Battle – Mount Street & Uckham Lane 1.8m

A beautiful rolling rural footpath walk with stunning views, including across to the Abbey and Church in striking silhouette on the hilltop, and over to Battle Great Woods in the other direction.

There’s a bridge over the railway at one point and under a tunnel under at another. Can be very muddy in winter, especially where there is a spring on the path parallel to Caldbec Hill, and along the path just down from the farm at the end of Uckham Lane.

Parking: Mount Street pay & display car park. Public transport: nearby bus stops.

Walked, checked, measured and photographed: September 2020; additional pics May 2022.
