Pevensey Castle 0.8 or 2.9m

If you just want a little pootle around the grounds of an historic ruin and to admire one of the 1066 sculptures, you could go straight to the Castle car park and take a 0.8m loop through the grounds, down by the Church and back around a well kept meadow.

If you’re after a bit more walking, you could start in Pevensey Bay (free car park on North Road) and reach the Castle along scenic public footpaths. On the day I went, there were cows grazing in the fields along the footpath nearest the car park, if you don’t fancy that, you could go up and back along the other path or go the road way.

Extreme care at railway crossing.

Parking: pay & display car park at Castle; free car park on North Road in Pevensey Bay or large pay & display on Sea Road, plus toilet block. Public transport: nearby bus stops.
